Give Them Life

In support of the Art for Elephants that some young artists in my school are doing for Elephant poaching and illegal ivory trade awareness with groups like  Big Life and some other international Organizations.
We learned a lot about the issue and some facts that stood out to me were at the rate of  elephants deaths now, they will be extinct by 2020. More info at: https://biglife.org/on-the-ground/anti-poaching do your research.
We will be having an art gallery in several locations like Gig Harbor High School, Tacoma Art Museum and more. along with an auction to sell the art in benefit for supporting the elephants. Dates will be announced.

Remember Him

I love art like you should know by now but I wanted to paint something that meant more than a pretty picture so with my new found love for watercolor I thought and thought until I decided with the upcoming Easter Holiday  I wanted to paint the hand of Christ with three forget-me-nots in his hand as if He were giving them to you. I wanted it to speak for my beliefs and my motivations in life. So with much reverence and determination I painted the hand of my Savior, Best friend and Brother;

I am not a very bold person, I am not one to talk and talk and talk. I prefer to speak my mind in a way that is more comfortable, painting. I believe Christ died for me because He loves me. I know this because I have felt His hand in my life and I took the effort to find out for myself if it was really Him. The very mountains and stars scream of this truth. All we have to do is Remember Him, recognize Him :)

I just Love Jesus! He really is the Man! But sometimes I forget (bad me) ( I mean we don't see him all that much do we ;) We read all over the scripture how great He it to EVERYBODY (that includes you).
He never ditches us: John 14:18: I will not leave you acomfortless: I will bcome to you.
He freaking wants us to live with Him forever (which would be an epic slumber party, don't worry, its an open invitation): John 14: 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will alove him, and we will come unto him, and make our babode with him.
We read these without even thinking about them: Isaiah 53:3-5
He is adespised and rejected of men; a man of bsorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we cesteemed him not.
 ¶Surely he hath aborne our bgriefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was awounded for our btransgressionshe was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his cstripes we are dhealed.
THINK ABOUT IT, amazing :) He did all of this for US, Me, YOU. um, yea, best friend.
He really understands what we are going through: Ecclesiastes 3: 1-10
 To every thing there is a aseason, and a btime to every purpose under the heaven:
 atime to be born, and a time to bdie; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
 A time to weep, and a time to alaugh; a time to bmourn, and a time to dance;
 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
 A time to aget, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
 A time to arend, and a time to sew; a time to keep bsilence, and a time to speak;
 A time to love, and a time to ahate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he alaboureth?
 10 I have seen the atravail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be bexercised in it.

WOW :)

Finally

After the months and months of doing the Peacock I needed a break, something that wasn't so loud and bold to look at and was light to hold...so, I did a watercolor :)

Watercolor was supposed to be merciless because if you make a mistake and put some paint where you don't want it, it stays there but I found it so easy and relaxing to work with. I felt like I was just slapping some water on a piece of paper like you used to do when you were young. Watercolor has such variation, you can make it soft and gentle or sharp and bold. It's lovely, try it sometime, you will lose track of time :)

Peacocks have Corn on the Cobs

So I finished my painting, another oil after working on it for just about a million years.
It is my 7th painting and plan to send each of the pieces around the world so someday people will try to collect all the pieces that dot the earth. (Sounds like a treasure hunt to me)

I have no idea what to do with it because it doesn't go anywhere in my house (according to mommy.) So as all of my paintings, it leans against the wall waiting for something exciting to happen.
